The Self-Care Beauty Trends We Predict for 2021

the latest beauty trends for 2021

We predict these ten at-home beauty trends will become the go-to self-care beauty hacks of 2021.

COVID really did shape how we looked at beauty trends in 2020, and it looks like it will continue to for 2021.

But it’s not all bad news. Self-care beauty will once again be at the forefront of the trends, as we all take more interest and invest into ways to manage our favourite beauty treatments at home to save money and feel safer.

Here are ten self-care beauty trends we predict for 2021.

Unisex Beauty:

Is your significant other already using some of your products? Unisex beauty started making headway in late 2019, with the idea that a product should not be gender specific, but rather designed to work for a multitude of skincare and haircare concerns no matter whether you were male or female.

2021 is now showing a significant advance in skincare and haircare where anyone can use it, as it treats the concern and not the sex. Such as Mr. Smith Haircare and Humanrace by Pharrell Williams.

Natural Face Contouring:

We’ve all heard of Rose Quartz Face Rollers, which promise to boost hydration and smooth out fine lines and wrinkles. Now UK Brand Finishing Touch Flawless have taken this roller to the next level, using micro vibrating technology to help improve firmness, skin tone and the appearance of fine lines.

The device is interchangeable, so you can change the face roller over to a rose quartz eye stone, which you use to help reduce puffy eyes and dark circles. It is battery operated, and great for travel. Using vibration technology, as you roll the rose quartz around the face and eye area, it lightly massages to increase blood flow and oxygen in the skin.

Celebrity Beauty:

Since the successful launch of Fenty by Rhianna, a beauty brand designed for any skin colour and skin concern imaginable, you can expect to see more celebrity designed beauty brands in 2021, as they design products specifically designed for long wearing throughout the day, without clogging pores. Check out About Face by American singer and songwriter Ashley Frangipane a.k.a. Halsey.

Though celebrities have been making tracks in the fragrance department for a while now, it’s the makeup and skincare products we are drawn to. Spending hours under the spotlight, either on stage performing, or behind the camera acting, these celebrities now what’s needed in delivering a long-lasting beauty product which is good for your skin.

Spa Quality At-Home Skincare:

With a lot of uncertainly still left hanging in the air around the world, and with many people in some nations still being locked up in their abode, we look to brands which have launched skincare packs to help us manage our skincare routines at home.

Enbacci Vitis Vinifera Rejuvenating 3-Step System is a new technology developed from grape stem cells, aka: Vitis Vinifera and is designed to effectively reduce the skin’s appearance of environmental stresses, like pigmentation and also helps fight the signs of ageing.

The range includes a gel cleanser, serum and face cream. And if you want to add in a fourth step, there is also a sheet mask.

Deep Cleansing Facials:

High tech gadgets such as the Dr. Dennis Gross DRx SpectraLite FaceWare Pro and the Joanna Vargas Magic Glow Wand became popular choices for giving your skin a deep cleanse at home during 2020. In 2021, you can expect more innovative at home facial experiences which will be more effective than ever before.

So far, we are seeing a host of brands already launching the Derma Blade Rollers, which is similar to micro needling. A derma-roller is made up of a roller lined with 0.25 tiny needles. When rolled over the skin, they make a little microchannel into the skin, which allows a release of excess toxins to escape and for your beauty products to penetrate deeper into the skin to help heal and work better. Hair Removal Devices:

Last year hair removal devices shot through the roof in popularity, with women (and some men) around the world during lockdown, seeing to find alternative and successful ways of removing hair safely at home, without a razer.

Happy Skin Co IPL Hair Removers were at the forefront in Australia, becoming a popular choice, as it uses safe IPL (intense pulsed light) technology to help remove hair permanently, with most uses claiming after 12 months of use, hair never grew back. 2021 is seeing a fast-growing trend of consumers wanting more of these devices to manage hair removal at home successfully, without spending too much money.

Clean and Affordable Beauty:

Beauty consumers are becoming increasingly conscious about their products, when it comes to how clean the product is, aka: what are the ingredients and how were those ingredients sourced. With that also comes the price point of a product.

Two years ago, for many, clean beauty was a little unreachable and often associated with a hefty price tag. However, with the ever-changing economy, you can expect to see a slow decrease in price of clean beauty, with brands such as Garnier’s new clean and green beauty range being easily accessible to any demographic.

Another brand to look out for is Love Beauty and Planet, which is an ethical and clean beauty brand, which is a good quality product without an intimidating price tag.

Next Level Female Razors:

Home laser hair removal devices might not be for everyone. Though safe for sensitive skin types, anyone with dark skin or varying skin concerns such as eczema or dermatitis, IPL devices are not recommended.

So far this year, varying brands have now launched revolutionary battery-operated shavers which promise to remove hair without the risk of nicks, cuts or bumps often caused from using manual bladed razors.

Check out the Mini Shaver by Happy Skin Co which charges by USB and is great for removing facial hair and hair around the delicate areas of the body.

Eco-Friendly Beauty:

2021 is already seeing beauty brands opting a more eco-friendly agenda, as a priority in developing plastic free products. French heritage brand Guerlain, have set a goal to help save a billion bees in the next ten years.

Haircare brand Davines took 262 days to develop a formula which is 98.2 percent biodegradable, taking only 28 days to breakdown after washing down the drain, and with packaging which is made from renewable sources.

Lux At-Home Spas:

Creating a calming atmosphere is a perfect way to begin your relaxing rituals, and perfect for re-stablising the mind when your stressed or have anxiety. Whether it’s a weekly ritual or a nightly routine, there is nothing quite like the self-care time you give yourself. And many brands have now made it easier than ever to self-indulge at home with your very own luxury spa treatment.

Aussie brand Lux Aestiva, which is cruelty-free, vegan and organic now produce a luxury range of products to create an epic spa experience at home. Check out their incense sticks, bath crystals and cleansing oil, all designed to clear the mind, refresh the body and recharge the spirit.
