The Best Vintage Shopping in Paris

My black book of vintage shopping in Paris, and which vintage shops to visit and what you will find in each one.

Once reserved for the fashion crowd & those in the know, these vintage stores offer some of the most incredible designer fashion at a fraction of the original price.

I am opening my black book to share my favourite vintage stores in Paris, which is surely the absolute best place to shop designer vintage in the world.

With the focus on sustainability increasing, vintage shopping is becoming more and more popular. Gucci clothing can even be found in some stores ( seen here, the Gucci museum).

I found these stores through my friends and friends of friends who work for designer fashion houses in Paris, yes they all shop vintage. With the focus on sustainability increasing, vintage shopping is becoming more and more popular, even for the fashion set.

Yes, some of these stores do have on-line offerings but there is nothing like an afternoon in Paris hunting for some of the best fashion money, time and great taste can buy.

Everything in these stores is handpicked, cared for and loved, pre-loved and post-loved. In some ways these stores feel like the essence of French fashion as the clothing is so loved, cared for and cherished.

Thanx God I am a VIP

For the high end designer brand shopper

I just love the name of this vintage store in Paris. This mind blowing 400square metre vintage store is completely colour coded and divided into seasons, and has some of the most incredible designer label buys you will find. I have bought Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Yves Saint Laurent, Moschino and Versace here.

There is everything  from dresses to jackets, skirts, leather, belts, bags and shoes.

The vintage store even has a comfy chair and drinks for partners to relax on, as shoppers here need a serious amount of time to sort through the massive array of stock.

Most items are priced at about 1/10th fo the original price and there are some select items such as Channel, Hermes or LV clothing o consignment, which are still at seriously low prices.

I could almost live here.

Everything is colour co-ordinated at the Paris Vintage Store Thanx God I’m a VIP.

Rose Market Vintage

For classic high end fashion

This is another brilliant vintage shopping experience for the big name French brands including YSL, Chanel, Dior and Givenchy. There are timeless pieces including velvet, leather, jackets, dresses, suits, coats and more.

There is a website which might be a good place to start before you go to give you an idea of the incredible calibre of clothing you can expect to find at The Rose Market Vintage Boutique.

Chinemachine

The Indie shopper looking for unique local designs and designers

This boutique is in the 18th, Monmartre and packed with both mens and women’s racks full of local designers as well as high end brands. There is something here for every budget, and each piece is hand picked. The staff are super helpful at picking out styles if you know what type of things you are looking for. There are loads of jeans, jackets, dresses and more.

On Mondays and Thursdays you can eventuate your own clothing in to see if they will take it to sell for cash or a store credit.

The Kilo Shop

For the couple who like shopping as well as maths.

Choose, weigh, take away. This unique store has everything laid out in colour groups according to price, and you buy by weight. EG scarves are Euro8, jackets might be Euro 30. A radical concept that works well for women shopping with men as the men can spend their time weighing the garments, and working out their price whilst she shops – or vice versa.

There are a lot of furs, and accessories here including shoes, and so many bargains to be found. Again you need time to search through the huge amount of clothing on offer. This store has four outlets around Paris and the one in the Marais is about 500sqm and over two floors – huge, and so many clothes on offer.

The Kilo Shop is as entertaining as it is fashionable when shopping in Paris for vintage clothing.
