Create a calming environment:

Having a calming environment is paramount to achieve ultimate relaxation.

Scent plays a big part in helping the body and mind relax. This is because research has shown the nose (olfactory system) holds a strong link to the hippocampus and amygdala, which are emotional and memory sectors of the brain. Lighting a candle or burning some incense help create an instant comfort and relaxing environment.

Circa Home Oceanique Candle is a gorgeous candle, scented with a blend of Orange Blossom, Bergamot, Patchouli and Sandalwood, blended perfectly to create an ‘ocean breeze’ scent. It smells incredibly fresh and will definitely send you into a state of relaxation when paired with a beautiful face mask or a good book.

Use a Face Mask:

Facemasks are an easy to get an instant boost of hydration into your skin. And they help you unwind too. When wearing a face mask, you are forced to take some time out for a minimum of ten to fifteen minutes. Especially with sheet masks, as you are unable to move around, forcing you to spend some time in relaxation.

The Bioeffect Hydrogel Mask is formulated with Hyaluronic Acid for ultimate hydration. The mask is drenched in BioEffect’s ‘EGF Serum’ that has won awards for its revolutionary age defying properties that increases the thickness of the skin and restores radiance.

If you are looking for a mask to also help reduce the signs of ageing, such as fine lines and wrinkles around the eye and lip area, you should try the fabulous Apple Stem Cell Technology sheet masks by Enbacci called Age Revitalising Face Defence Mask RRP $85 for a box of five sheet masks.

These masks have been specially formulated with revolutionary apple stem cells proven to turn back the clock on ageing in the skin. The cells are cultivated from Uttwiler Spätlauber (a Swiss variety of apples) and Leucojum Aestivum Bulb Extract which is known for their powerful antioxidant properties. So, it will target the signs of ageing and help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Winning.

Try Contouring Your Face:

A great way to make the most of a facemask is to use a face roller over the top of it. Face rollers are a great way to stimulate your skin and encourage blood flow. So, by using a face roller your skin is more equipped to absorb the serums from a face mask. At the same time, you can contour your face to create more defined jaw and cheek bones.

The Platinum Contour Roller by Lonvitalite has been specially designed to sculpt and contour the face in an effort to reduce face puffiness and relive stress and tension.

Exfoliate:

As Autumn rolls in, so does the colder weather. Often, skin dries out in colder weather and may become flaky, harsh and sensitive. It’s important to keep up with a consistent exfoliation routine to keep your skin feeling soft, smooth and fresh.

The Face Halo Body Exfoliator is the perfect mitt for efficient and effective exfoliating. The dual sided mitt is created specifically to not only scrub and exfoliate the skin, but to also polish the skin to leave a gorgeous shine. Perfect before tanning or applying your fave body oil.

Moisturise:

It is important to always moisturise after exfoliating the skin. This can be done in two ways: body lotion, or body oil

The Davroe Body Firming Lotion has been formulated to hydrate and restore skins elasticity. It has a subtle, sweet scent and melts into your skin really quickly.

Alternatively, if body lotion isn’t for you, body oil may be. The Weleda Arnica Massage Oil uses natural plant oils to let the skin breathe, whilst also making it appear smoother and much more hydrated. It is quite fragrant, with a mix of rosemary and lavender to smell fresh.
