The foundation I have found to be the best for all skin types.
Being a beauty journalist of over 20 years experience, I have been trying new foundations for over 20 years. And they have been at all price points and have been multiple varieties. There have been water-free and oil-free foundations as well as oil based and even water based products. There has been vegan foundations, chemical free, those not tested on animals and so on.
I do feel every woman needs to mix up her foundation depending on the weather, different countries and as we age.
Estée Lauder was one of the first cosmetic brands I encountered as a teenager. But it wasn’t until many years later Double Wear Foundation was released, and I tried it out. For me, it was a game changer.
It gives good, flawless coverage, is matt, and lasts 10-12 hours without a touch up.
The exact products I use:
Personally I like a matte finish and reasonable coverage from my foundation, therefore this product works for me. The ultimate foundation for me goes on in the morning and lasts all day. From the first time I used it, that is what I have found with Estée Lauder Double Wear. It gives smooth coverage, and lasts all day.
In terms of foundation, after cleansing and moisturising my skin, I use double wear maximum cover camouflage foundation.
This is as a concealer as a concealer over any blemishes or imperfections. I find the coverage is excellent, and it stays on without sliding even in summer.
Next I apply double wear stay in place make-up. It now comes with an optional pump, but I still prefer to pour it out of the top of the bottle the old fashioned way, and onto the back of my hand. Much to the horror of make-up artists, my preference is to apply foundation with my hands rather than a sponge or make-up brush.
I do finish it off in summer with Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay In Place powder make-up which I carry in my handbag to mattify my face in the afternoon if I build up a sweat glow.
