Beauty Tips: The Beauty Products I fly with

Pinterest LinkedIn

A long haul flight can take a toll on your skin, so put these beauty products in your carry-on.

These beauty products will keep your skin soft and you looking your best when you travel next.

The low humidity, recycled air and confined environment can leave you with dry, flaky and irritated skin.

Look fabulous after a long haul flight with our favourite beauty products and tips and tricks.

PRE-FLIGHT

It’s a known fact that the high elevation and low humidity can leave your skin feeling dry. To combat this, drink plenty of water before, during and after your flight. Consider tying your hair away from your face to prevent oils and grime on your skin causing your skin to break out. Also, it’s essential to remove your makeup before a flight. Makeup wipes are your go to beauty products during a long haul flight as they are convenient and easy to use. Try using Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes (RRP: $7.49) .

HALFWAY THROUGH THE FLIGHT/STOP OVER

In flight essentials include a good hand cream and a good lip balm. The low humidity can leave your skin, lips and hands feeling dry and cracked. Try Crabtree & Evelyn Overnight Hand Therapy (RRP: $32.00) to give your hands that intensive hand care treatment. To prevent dry, cracked lips, moisturise with Burts Bees Honey Lip Balm (RRP: $6.95).

Midway through a long haul flight is the perfect time to treat your skin to a good face mask, especially during a stop over. We love June Jacobs Mandarin Moisture Masque: On-The-Go Masque (RRP : $18.00). This product comes in a convenient travel size pack and instantly hydrates your skin. Packed with Vitamin C and E to boost collagen production, this mask will instantly give your skin that healthy glow. The product also comes out in a clear mask gel so you don’t have to worry about scaring the person sitting next to you.

1 HOUR BEFORE LANDING

Step off the plane looking well rested, fresh and ready to hit the ground running with a simple and natural makeup look. Skip the foundation and go for something that’s more lightweight on the skin such as a tinted moisturiser.

Concealer is a beauty product must after a long haul flight. We love Kat Von D’s Lock It Concealer Crème (RRP: $32.00). This is a very heavy-duty concealer that is perfect for covering up dark under eye circles and hiding any blemishes. For a simple and natural look, fill in your eyebrows with Revlon ColorStay Eyebrow Liner (RRP: $22.95).

Add some colour with Revlon’s Glow Power in playful plum (RRP: $26.95) to give your skin that fresh face I-woke-up-like-this glow. And finally, finish off your look with a gorgeous lip colour. Givenchy’s rouge Interdit Satin Lipstick in Rosy Night (RRP: $34.00) is a gorgeous, everyday, pink colour that’s packed with powerful antioxidants to hydrate and nourish the lips.

Bon Voyage!
