Discover the Ultimate in Sophistication at Four Seasons Sydney, with Stunning Views, Exquisite Dining, and World-Class Amenities.

The Four Seasons Sydney delivers a seemingly effortless decadence without any hint of trying too hard to impress.

In truth, I wasn’t expecting much, as this hotel is seriously old – 32 years to be precise, and I feel like I have interviewed at least half of the General Manager’s on my podcast, as working here has almost been a rite of passage for some of Australia’s best hoteliers, all of whom seem to leave.

Uday Rao is at the helm now, and he is one of the most respected General Managers at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. Rao was adored in Bali by the entire community where he worked as the General Manager of Four Seasons Bali for nine years.

The industry word is that Rao moved to Sydney to brighten things up, and he certainly succeeded. From its prime location in Sydney harbour and stunning harbour views to its elegant decor and exceptional service, Four Seasons Sydney offers an unrivalled experience in the heart of Sydney.

Waking up to the city’s most iconic views is a privilege that makes every stay at Four Seasons Sydney truly unforgettable, and the seamless array of staff ensure every other aspect of a stay is world class.

Overall Rating: 10/10

Location & Impressions: 9.5/10

Nestled between the historic quarter of The Rocks and the bustling Circular Quay, the Four Seasons Sydney stands tall as a sophisticated skyscraper that caters to the international jet-set.

The moment I stepped into the grand three-story lobby, with its sweeping staircase and elegant mahogany panelling, I was immediately drawn to the allure of Sydney’s most iconic landmarks. I have lived in Sydney for over 20 years, but something about this grand dame of a hotel made them seem fresher, dazzling and exciting again, even for me.

The location couldn’t be better – just a five-minute walk to the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge, with the vibrant streets of The Rocks right outside the door.

Rooms: 9.5/10

The 531 rooms and suites at Four Seasons Sydney offer an unparalleled level of luxury. My stay in the Full Harbour King Room on the 20th floor was nothing short of spectacular. T

The room boasted floor-to-ceiling windows that framed the Sydney Harbour, Opera House, and Harbour Bridge in all their glory.

The neutral but elegant decor, with light blue hues and wooden touches, created a serene and elegant atmosphere and the artwork was amazing.

The signature king-sized bed, dressed in crisp 300-thread-count linen and down pillows, ensured a restful night’s sleep, as did the immaculate blinds which closed to pitch darkness with the touch of a button.

The marble bathroom, fitted with a deep soaking tub and Luxe Codage amenities, added a touch of opulence.

Style: 9/10

Elegance and sophistication define all Four Seasons Hotels I have reviewed, including the Four Seasons Sydney. The decor throughout the hotel blends modern luxury with timeless charm, from the grand foyer to the stylish suites.

The design brief to make guests feel as though they are “soaring above the harbour” is evident in every detail, from the light-filled rooms to the breathtaking views, seen in many club rooms and the private lounge on floor 32.

Wellness: 9.5/10

The third-floor wellness area is a haven of relaxation and rejuvenation. The Fitness centre is impressive with a large array of treadmills, stepping machines and other cardio equipment. Plus there is a large selection of weights to use. Much of the gym overlooks a hedged balcony and a view, which makes the vibe very pleasant and positive.

The Endota Spa offers an extensive menu of Australian-inspired treatments, including facials, massages, and revitalising therapies. With six treatment rooms, a steam room, a sauna, and a Jacuzzi, it’s the perfect place to unwind. Hotel guests can access the team and sauna at any time which is fantastic for jet lag or mere self indulgence 24/7.

The Four Seasons Sydney also features a large heated outdoor pool, and there is a discreet entrance for added privacy.

Location & what’s nearby: 10/10

The hotel’s prime location on George Street allows easy access to all of Sydney’s major attractions. The Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney Aquarium, and Royal Botanical Gardens are just a short walk away.

For further exploration, the Circular Quay railway station is a three-minute walk, providing connections to the airport and Sydney’s famous ferries.

Food & Beverage: 10/10

Dining at Four Seasons Sydney is a culinary delight from morning to night. The breakfast buffet is extensive and the quality of food is absolutely exceptional – and creative. Acai, gluten free banana bread, croissants stuffed to the brim with different daily fillings, a wood fire, fresh eggs, salads galore and so much more provided a feast for the senses as well as the stomach.

Mode Kitchen & Bar, led by Executive Chef Francesco Mannelli, offers a lunch and menu that bridges casual comfort with fine dining. At the time of writing, a lunch menu for just $55 for three courses is on offer and has to be one of the best value lunches in Sydney. The setting has a modern, opulent but relaxed club-like feel in gold, timber , hues of blues and greens and multiple leathers.

Standout evening dishes include the stuffed grilled zuchinis, over sized t-bone steak and and truffle-topped desserts. The chocolate truffles are to die for.

Grain Bar, adjacent to the main reception, is known for its impressive whisky selection and creative cocktails and Louis Roderer Champagne by the glass. The floor to ceiling windows provide a unique insight into the hustle and bustle of Sydney’s financial district, and great people watching over a fabulous drink or two. What a way to start a night out in Sydney.

Service: 10/10

Service at the Four Seasons Sydney is impeccable. The concierge team, including members of the expert network Les Clefs d’Or, and ensure every guest’s needs are met with precision and care.

Whether it’s organising a marriage proposal or providing customised jogging maps, the staff go above and beyond to create a memorable experience. The departing General Manager Uday Rao is one of Four Season’s best ( he has been promoted to XX) so it is no wonder the staff are exceptional.

I had to do a podcast and one found an empty box for me to subtly elevate my computer, and the staff at Grain had a warmth and kindness not always found in luxury environments, ensured my truffle fries had just enough truffle and that my glass was never empty.

Lounge 32: 10/10

For those staying in Club Rooms or Suites, access to Lounge 32 on the 32nd floor is a highlight. This exclusive space offers a serene environment with stunning views of the western side of Sydney Harbour. For me and my son, the vast array of windows made us see Sydney in a way we hadn’t envisioned before.

We were surprised at the quality enjoy a hot and cold breakfast buffet, afternoon canapés, and a selection of high end wines and cocktails of an evening and lovely teas and soft drinks throughout the day.

The lounge also features a stately private dining room and a boardroom, perfect for VIP meetings or even small gatherings.
