Park Hyatt Jakarta Review, Surround Yourself in Luxury.

Surround yourself in luxury at The Park Hyatt Jakarta, an extraordinary five star hotel.

It is one of Jakarta’s newest and slickest 5 star hotels and one of the most modern and luxurious.

Purpose built to be one of the country’s most luxurious city stays, the Park Hyatt Jakarta excels on every level, especially design, which is light bright and residential yet modern in feel with striking sweeping city views from almost every vantage point.

The new Park Hyatt Jakarta is a stunning 5 star hotel on every level.

London-based design practice Conran and Partners led by partner Tina Norden designed the 17 storey hotel which sits on the top floors of the 37 storey sparkling new building, Park Tower in Jakarta’s Menteng.

The visual journey through the hotel uniquely reflects the layers of an Indonesian tropical rainforest, with darker colours on the lower floors which become lighter on the way up.

Inside Park Hyatt Jakarta, an interior design dream.

The unique, detailed design also features dappled light, with tree branches wrapping around the trunk.

The design uses elements such as lava stone and copper as well as handwoven ikat textile motifs, intricate wood carvings and shields. It pays homages to Indonesian traditions and concurrently opens and blossoms into one of the most modern south east asian city hotels ever built.

Park Hyatt Jakarta offers a stunning world of luxury.

There are plenty of places to WFH, read or just simply relax outside your room in the library, Conservatory or Living Room with or without coffee or snack. And there must be at least 15 spectacular instagrammable locations on site. The hotel’s interiors are a social media dream from chairs to backdrops, interiors, art and views.

The Park Hyatt Jakarta is quite literally packed with multiple instagrammable locations.

This luxury five star hotel showcases Jakarta in a way it has not been seen before. Artwork including sculptures and paintings adorn all of the public areas, but The Park Hyatt Jakarta is all about breathtaking views, which is unique for this city.

The hotel’s location in Jakarta harks back to the origins of the Park Hyatt brand, as the first property overlooked a serene park in Chicago, a reminder that Park Hyatt hotels around the world offer an oasis of calm in the midst of busy urban settings and cities.

Almost every aspect of the hotel from the Fitness Centre to the pool, breakfast room and even the spa have expansive and uninterrupted  views across the city. The National Monument Monas, thee pride of jakarta locals can be viewed from at least half of the hotel.

The highlights throughout my stay were the food and beverage – extraordinary quality, creativity  standards, solid variety and affordable prices across the board. The wellness facility including the fitness centre is superb, and one of Jakarta’s best currently on offer within or outside a hotel.

The gym at Park Hyatt is excellent – and again has fabulous views.

The spa treatments are modern and affective and include the hydro spa facial, the American concept currently sweeping the world, and the prices are a lot less than outside Indonesia.

The gym is full of the latest techno gym cardio vascular equipment which is some of the easiest and most enjoyable equipment to use – you can even sign in if you download the app and record your efforts.

Again views abound, which makes a cardio workout fly by, and there is enough equipment to service a number of guests at the same time with plenty of space.

The style: 9/10

Think modern, slick, switched on and shiny with endless natural light and many striking local arts, crafts and reflections of Indonesia. It’s a case of the more you look, the more you see.

A custom art collection seamlessly merges traditional heritage with sleek contemporary design, creating a subtle contrast between Jakarta’s modern urbanity and the country’s natural environment, art history and heritage.

One of the Park Hyatt Jakarta’s most striking features is a series of hand-blown crystal installations and chandeliers, made up of thousands of delicate orbs that hover like clouds, reflective of rainfall and starlit skies.

Navigating around the hotel takes a bit of getting used to as there are two sets of lifts, as well as stairs.

The Lobby at The Park Hyatt Jakarta welcomes guests with stunning views, hand blown crystal chandaliers and first class service.

The Rooms: 8.5/10

There are 220 oversized rooms, including 36 suites which have a very unique design at Park Hyatt Jakarta.

Marble baths, coffee machines, mini bar, kettle, flat screen TVs and a unique his and her vanity area as well as floor to ceiling windows ensure they are flooded with light and that there is plenty of space.

The bathrooms in the rooms and suites at Park Hyatt Jakarta are a highlight.

Broken down, there is a mini bathroom with a bath and mirrored vanity, another small room without the bath but complete with mirror and vanity as well as yet another room with a separate toilet and then separate dressing room.

These four spaces ensure couples have privacy and space at the times of day when they need it most.

Rooms have dark wooden floors, and are decorated with timber, a touch of traditional Indonesian Batik. Each is adorned with a unique but traditional Indonesian crown made from copper,

Food & Drink: 10/10

The food and beverage within this hotel is world class. Italian head F&B director Claudio Rossi has brought some of the regions’s best talent together to ensure the food is absolutely extraordinary, from a cocktail to afternoon tea and some of the best upscale Japanese in Jakarta.

Food and Beverage at Park Hyatt Jakarta is outstanding.

The Dining Room serves breakfast, lunch and dinner which combine a buffet offering with an a la carte menu, and cleverly combine Indonesian and Italian cuisines in an interactive open kitchen setting filled with chefs to cook or serve on request.

Breakfast is extraordinary in terms of the diversity of food on offer as well as the quality – there is every type of western breakfast cuisine you could want, as well as local options. The lunch menu has extraordinary Italian dishes, and I ate some of the best lamb chops I’ve eaten in Asia.

Food and alcohol prices are reasonable and designed to bring people in and keep them within the hotel – there is extraordinary value for such a regal property and for such high level cuisine in this part of the world.

Afternoon tea is one of the best in Jakarta. Designed to be savoured, it is served amongst towering chandeliers, stunning city views, and delivered slowly, course by course and accompanied by a delicate and well thought out tea collection, and a glass of Billecarte Champagne if you like.
