Hemal Jain is the progressive General Manager of Alila Uluwatu, leading South East Asia in Sustainability.
Alila Uluwatu is in one of Bali’s most spectacular locations on a cliff top overlooking the iconic Indian Ocean.
Jain’s multi award winning luxury five star hotel Alila Uluwatu is one of Bali’s most popular and highly sought after amongst high end European, American and Australian travellers.
But it is his forward thinking sustainability program and sustainability lab within the hotel that has him talked about the world over. Ninety-four percent of his hotel is plastic free.
Born in India, and a graduate of Oberoi hotels, Jain is passionate about travel with purpose and changing the concept of luxury hotel stays to ensure guests are pampered, but also have the choice to be educated about how luxury hotels and their guests can truly make a difference to the environment within which they are travelling and staying in.
He believes by assimilating the luxury traveller within their environment, and its people brings greater awareness, potentially collaboration, understanding and compassion.
Jain works seamlessly between some of the world’s wealthiest and most high profile guests as well as with some of Indonesia’s simplest people whose focus is a cleaner, better world.
