INNSiDE by Melia Bangkok Sukhumvit is a fabulously modern, design led hotel stay.
Nestled in Bangkok’s vibrant On Nut neighborhood, INNSiDE by Meliá Bangkok Sukhumvit stands as a beacon of modern elegance and design innovation.
This is a five star hotel that feels young, fresh and global – in some ways, it is setting the bar for the future direction of five star luxury and what it means to the next generation of luxury travellers.
From its gleaming gold accents to its white Instagram-worthy interiors, this hotel sets a new standard for stylish accommodation in the Thai capital.
There are WFH areas, meeting rooms, coffee machines, and young staff who are up for a chat or to help guests with the details of their stay.
There are not one, but two striking rooftop bars – one with an infinity pool, with both a glass bottom and a massive gold swing to glide over it and one with a massive strikingly designed cement bar centre piece, and a Spanish restaurant.
One of the hotel’s standout features is that the 34th-floor rooftop infinity pool that has a glass bottom that forms the ceiling of LUZ Bangkok Tapas Bar below. This has to be seen to be believed.
The other rooftop has a Spanish restaurant and cement oval shaped bar serving fabulous cocktails
I just stayed and feel this hotel is a must-visit, for anyone interested in striking and creative design, or in taking gorgeous photos, enjoying sensational rooftops, and modern, thoughtfully curated rooms, as well as diverse food and beverage offerings.
Not withstanding the incredibly energetic design, I actually found the hotel surprisingly calming. There were multiple places to chill.
Overall Rating: 8/10
Location: 7/10
A stay at this hotel has been described as a gateway to Bangkok’s highlights, although it is important to note it is quite a way from the main shopping and night life hubs that can be reached by taxi or public transport.
Situated in On Nut, INNSiDE by Meliá Bangkok Sukhumvit is away from the main hub of the retail and nightlife action.
Just steps away from the On Nut BTS Skytrain station, guests can access the hustle and bustle of central Bangkok within 20-30 minutes.
When flying in, the hotel’s proximity to the expressway means Suvarnabhumi Airport is a 50-minute drive away, although there are now two airports, and each is about the same distance from the hotel.
The Lotus supermarket and an array of local massage centers and local hairdressers add to the convenience, making the hotel ideal for both short visits and extended stays.
With BITEC, the city’s largest convention center, just a short distance away, business travelers will also find the location strategic and practical.
Design: An Ode to Bangkok’s Beauty 9/10
INNSiDE by Meliá Bangkok Sukhumvit’s design concept draws from the city’s iconic landmarks and cultural heritage.
Arriving at the lobby is a highlight of a stay. Stepping into the lobby on the 32nd floor, guests are greeted by floor-to-ceiling windows that frame a panoramic view of Bangkok’s skyline.
The space exudes a contemporary charm with an open-plan layout, a sleek colour palette dominated by whites and golds, and natural light flooding the interiors.
The city views are spectacular at any time of the day. Subtle homages to Bangkok’s history and traditions, such as a giant golden swing at the rooftop pool, evoke the city’s famous Brahman swing at Wat Suthat.
The hotel’s public areas are not just visually appealing but functional.
The “Big Ideas Space” meeting rooms combine creativity and productivity, making them perfect for business travellers looking to brainstorm or hold conferences or even for zoom meetings.
The casual attire of the staff—sneakers and relaxed t-shirts—creates a welcoming atmosphere that complements the laid-back yet sophisticated vibe.
Rooms: Thoughtful Details and Modern Comforts 8.5/10
With 208 rooms in three categories, INNSiDE by Meliá Bangkok Sukhumvit caters to every type of traveler, and nothing is too OTT. Generation Z will love to stay here.
I stayed in a basic room and loved it. The shower was large, and the toilet separate, great if couples are travelling.
The bathroom sink floats in the middle of the room in an oval shaped piece of furniture that houses towels and can store products. The king bed is huge and comfy, and there is a window to see the bustling, busy street below which I enjoyed.
The Townhouse suites, are popular and said to be a spacious haven that features separate living, sleeping, and bathing areas divided into two rooms by solid sliding doors.
This thoughtful layout allows for privacy and functionality—perfect for partners or friends who keep different schedules.
The room’s design sticks to a minimalist aesthetic, accented with black and white photography from local artists.
Large windows bring in natural light, enhancing the clean whites and creating an airy, spacious feel. The living room’s daybed, instead of a traditional couch, offers versatility as an additional sleeping spot or a cozy reading nook.
Details like Marshall speakers, an old-school telephone, and plush, oversized “hoodie” bathrobes add character and comfort.
Blackout curtains and DreamMaker mattresses promise restful nights, while the sleek bathroom features a rain shower, a large bathtub with a caddy tray, and eco-friendly bath products in refillable dispensers.
The complimentary mini-bar, stocked with locally-sourced drinks such as Chang beer and green tea, along with an espresso machine, add an extra touch of hospitality.
Food & Beverage: A Culinary Adventure 7/10
Dining at INNSiDE by Meliá Bangkok Sukhumvit is a delightful journey for the taste buds.
The hotel’s signature restaurant, LUZ Bangkok Tapas Bar, takes centre stage on the 33rd floor, serving up a curated selection of Spanish tapas. Food is often prepared in front of guests.
With breathtaking views of the city skyline, this dining spot pairs dishes with expertly crafted cocktails and Spanish wines.
The lively atmosphere, complemented by upbeat background music and the staff’s warm hospitality, makes for an enjoyable evening. Again there are multiple opportunities for breath taking photos.
Kites Eatery, the all-day dining outlet where breakfast is served, provides an array of basic Continental and Asian options.
From a made-to-order egg station to dim sum, fresh salads, and locally sourced fruits, the offerings cater to all tastes.
The buffet features crisp, fresh produce and warm, flaky pastries that taste as though they’re straight from the oven.
The attentive staff ensures that tables are swiftly cleared and that the buffet remains pristine even during busy hours.
Rooftop Views 9/10
One of the hotel’s standout features is its 34th-floor rooftop infinity pool with a glass bottom that forms the ceiling of LUZ Bangkok Tapas Bar below. Really innovative.
Taking a dip while gazing at the sweeping city views is a surreal and exhilarating experience that blends relaxation with awe.
Adjacent to the pool is a chic rooftop bar where guests can unwind with a cocktail while soaking in the panoramic skyline. There is a daily happy hour too. This area was packed during my stay.
Wellness: 7.5/10
The 24-hour gym is unfortunately compact, but is well-equipped with excellent modern cardio machines, beautiful windows creating plenty of light, and a small selection of free weights, perfect for maintaining fitness routines during a stay.
But in this day and age when hotel guests are using a hotel gym more and more and the alternative fitness options are limited due to weather – it is too small.
Why I would choose INNSiDE by Meliá Bangkok Sukhumvit
From its stylish design including two rooftop areas, to its thoughtfully and elegantly appointed rooms and sprawling work from home areas with floor to ceiling windows, INNSiDE by Meliá Bangkok Sukhumvit offers a balanced blend of luxury, comfort, and convenience.
This is not a hotel that feels cluttered.
Whether you’re in Bangkok for business or leisure, this hotel promises an unforgettable stay that merges the city’s cultural essence with modern amenities. With its attention to detail and dedication to guest satisfaction, I’d return without a second thought – and my teenagers would love it.
