Vie Hotel Bangkok, A Sophisticated Urban Retreat in the Heart of Bangkok
VIE Hotel Bangkok, part of Accor’s MGallery Hotel Collection, offers a stay away from the typical Bangkok luxury Hoel.
It is 16 years old, having opened in 2008 but was fully renovated during covid so feels fresh, new and with the advantage of huge living spaces unlike many newly built hotels which often have small rooms. Not every traveler seeks the gold-gilded glitz of Bangkok’s lavish hotels and Vie feels international, European rather than strictly Thai, but it does have Asian touches and influences.
Each day, a “Guest of the Day” is selected to receive a complimentary surprise like complimentary breakfast, a room upgrade, Club benefit access, spa discount, as well as a special in-room treat. This is a fun place to stay.
Vie is a luxury five star hotel where elegance isn’t shouted but felt. Here, refined French design meets the quiet strength of Thai warmth, offering not flashy style, but a kind of sanctuary for the soul instead.
The interior design is distinctly French for the most part, the highlight being the breakfast room which feels warm and inviting, and is stunningly decored in striking blue, cream and grey hues as well as fresh flowers, and it has views across the city.

Ideally located just steps from the BTS Skytrain and within walking distance of Siam’s top shopping and cultural attractions, this boutique hotel stands out for its exceptional world-class dining including the one Michelin star Signature restaurant, and YTSB Japanese which I absolute loved.
The exceptional wellness offerings include a world class gym as well as a stand alone spa, and modern, spacious guest rooms.
The hotel has a complimentary tuk tuk shuttle that can be booked to reach the shopping centres nearby.
Vie Hotel Bangkok has an idyllic signature rooftop pool, complete with its own bar, decking and plenty of places to unwind, a serene spa, and a MICHELIN-starred restaurant elevate the experience, making it one of the city’s most compelling and affordable luxury stays.

Overall Rating: 9/10
Location – 8/10
Vie Hotel Bangkok M Gallery Collection is about 45 minutes from the aport, but it depends on which day you arrive and at what time, as Bangkok’s traffic is typically challenging.
Positioned just steps from Ratchathewi BTS Skytrain station, and a short stroll from Bangkok’s premier malls—Siam Paragon, MBK, Siam Center, and Platinum Fashion Mall—the location is unbeatable if shopping is your priority.
There are also some of the best fashion markets and shopping centres in walking distance. I spent a lot of my stay walking exploring the area in a good pair of sneakers and not wearing much as Bangkok is always hot, but this ability to walk on foot rally felt like a luxury and I enjoyed it.
Vie Hotel Bangkok offers effortless access to shopping, dining, and major attractions, while still maintaining a quiet and sophisticated atmosphere.

Design & Ambience – 9/10
Designed by BOIFFILS Architectures, the hotel merges contemporary elegance with a touch of Art Deco flair. The two-building design includes a striking low-rise structure with the rooftop pool and dining spaces, and a sleek 26-story tower housing the guest rooms.
The overall aesthetic is understated yet refined, offering a peaceful retreat from the city’s energy. Unlike many high end hotels in Bangkok, the design is far more European than South East Asian, and because the structure was built some time ago, rooms are surprisingly large and plush – which a lot of guests appreciate.
Waking up in your suite at Vie Hotel Bangkok M Gallery Collection, you could be anywhere in the world.

Rooms – 8.5/10
My suite at Vie Bangkok was spacious, filled with natural light, and designed with thoughtful touches that made it feel more like a stylish Bangkok apartment than a standard hotel room.
There were plush textures, a sweeping view of the city skyline, and I had a corner suite which was a real bonus, and one of those beds that seems to absorb every ounce of travel fatigue the moment you lie down.
The suite felt massive compared to most hotel roos I have stayed in in Bangkok.
Rooms at VIE Hotel are airy, light-filled, and remarkably spacious—even the standard category includes a daybed, a large workspace, and an indulgent bathroom with a rain shower and separate soaking tub.

I had a fantastic desk to work from, sprawling lounge area, and separate sleeping room with a plush luxe king bed and bathroom that included decent sized separate bath and shower.
Floor-to-ceiling windows provide sweeping city views, while the soothing neutral décor adds to the overall sense of calm and relaxation. Cleanliness and attention to detail are consistently highlighted by guests.

Wellness – 9.5/10
VIE Spa is a sanctuary in the city. The serene setting and skillful therapists offer a truly rejuvenating experience, whether you opt for a deep tissue massage, a facial or one of the hotel’s signature treatments.
I had a traditional Thai Massage which was one of the best I have ever had, and excellent to unwind my muscles after a long flight.
Vie spa has a calming atmosphere, exceptional service, and thoughtful touches throughout. It’s one of the finest and best priced hotel spas in Bangkok.
There is a huge fitness club at Vie Bangkok by M Gallery outsourced and run by WE Signature Fitness Club, which is a great concept as the space is huge and the equipment very new and plentiful. I went every day and thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the experience.

Pool & Outdoor Space – 9/10
One of the most striking and enjoyable features of VIE Hotel is its elevated open-air infinity pool, set on a deck high above the street with a transparent side. Surrounded by sleek wooden decking and modern loungers, it’s the perfect urban oasis.
The pool bar serves up tropical cocktails and light snacks, ideal for enjoying while soaking in panoramic views of Bangkok’s skyline.
Whether you’re swimming laps or unwinding with a drink at sunset, the ambiance here is both chic and serene.

Food & Beverage – 9.5/10
The stand out feature for me at VIE Hotel Bangkok, is that the hotel offers world class dining experiences that compete with the best in the city:

Breakfast became a ritual I looked forward to each day. From the delicate dim sum to the perfect croissant, açai and chia seed yoghurt, each detail felt considered.

The service was intuitive and unhurried, allowing me to linger with my coffee, soaking in the scene of stylish travelers speaking multiple languages.

- Signature Bangkok: Located on the 11th floor, this elegant French fine dining restaurant has earned one MICHELIN star and is one of the most talked about restaurants in Bangkok . Under the direction of acclaimed French chef Thierry Drapeau, dishes are artistic, refined, and rooted in seasonality, blending French culinary techniques with subtle Asian influences.
- YTSB – Yellow Tail Sushi Bar: A hidden gem and one of Bangkok’s top omakase destinations. Omakase is traditional shop front cooking where the chef serves up dish after dish based on what the freshest ingredients are that day. Most of the food is raw, but intricately and artistically served, and presented with sauces, textures, and hot and cold features as part of the experience. The art of the design of the dishes is as much a part of the dining experience as the taste. The quality of the fish, attention to detail, and intimate setting offer an unforgettable Japanese dining experience. I tried the 16 course degustation which was incredible full of taste, texture and amazing food.
- Breakfast Buffet: A highlight of every stay at Vie Bangkok, the breakfast buffet is expansive and thoughtfully curated. There is a huge range of Asian and Western favorites, fresh eggs cooked to order, and a dedicated health-focused section with smoothies, chia, açai, fresh fruit, a selection of quality yoghurts, coconut yoghurt, and more. It’s a perfect balance of indulgence and nutrition.

Sustainability: 8/10
Vie has a focus on sustainability as well as equality within the workplace. Vie Hotel Bangkok M Gallery is one of only 5 hotels in Bangkok to receive Green Globe certification in its very first year, recognised for their commitment to sustainability and social responsibility.
A surprising 71% of the executive team are women, reflecting a strong commitment to gender equality
From the moment I arrived, VIE Hotel Bangkok felt like a sanctuary—elegant without being aloof, refined but with a generous heart.
The lobby, with its decorated ceilings and natural light, struck that rare balance between modern design and warmth.
There’s a sense of being somewhere important, but also welcome—like the staff are genuinely happy you’re there, not just trained to say so. I will be back.
