Luxury isn’t just about opulence—it’s about ease, comfort, and thoughtful details. During a recent stay at the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square, I discovered a property that blends modern indulgence, outstanding food with classic London charm.
The location could not be better. Nestled in the heart of Mayfair, this five-star hotel offers a seamless blend of style, service, and location—perfect for a relaxing city break, a celebration, or an elegant business trip. And the food offerings from Gordon Ramsay are next level. Many of London’s best restaurants are on the doorstep: Scott’s, Murano, Le Gavroche as well as Sketch.
The concierge are also some of London’s best, which is extremely useful given most guests who stay at the hotel in warmer months set out on foot and are in need of a lot of local knowledge for shopping, dining, cafes and bars.
The concierge have it all nailed, and are warm, kind – and have that brilliant British sense of humour. I loved the top hats on the doorman, I wish every luxury hotel would insist in them. Adds such an air of class, elegance and sophistication.

Overall Rating: 8.5/10
An elegant, well-located hotel that delivers on service, stylish comfort, and exceptional dining—ideal for travellers who appreciate refined experiences and thoughtful details.
Location – 10/10
The hotel’s Mayfair address puts the best of London shopping, restaurants, bars and even parks at your feet. Selfridges is a few minutes’ walk, and you can reach Oxford Street, Bond Street Station, and Green Park in under five minutes. Hyde Park, Piccadilly Circus, and Buckingham Palace are easily accessible on foot.
Whether you’re staying in London for high-end shopping, cultural sightseeing, or a serene escape, this central yet peaceful location makes everything incredibly convenient.
The Piccadilly Line offers direct service to Heathrow Airport, which is a major plus for international travelers.

Rooms – 9/10
Our one-bedroom suite on the first floor was an absolute highlight and well worth the upgrade—spacious, serene, and beautifully designed.
The layout included a welcoming living area, bedroom, and a sleek marble bathroom with both a soaking tub and a walk-in shower. French doors opened onto a private terrace overlooking a tranquil grassed courtyard—a rare find in central London.
The suite had a modern yet timeless aesthetic, in soft greys, crisp whites and calming blue tones, plush supremely comfortable bedding, oversized headboards and all the essentials you’d expect at this level, including high-end toiletries, a four-person dining area, and efficient climate control.
Do note: in many reviews guests noted some lower-level rooms lack natural light, so ask for a higher floor or a suite with outdoor space if possible.

Style & Ambiance – 9/10
This hotel radiates quiet sophistication. Housed in a Georgian Revival building, the interior is elegant without being overly formal. The lobby is grand, marble and back and white which is a fitting introduction to the first Marriott in London.
From the curated artwork in the hallways to the soft lighting and rich materials in the guest spaces, there’s a sense of considered luxury throughout.
The Executive Lounge is in the basement which frankly I found disappointing —it has been recently renovated, and it provides a place to unwind between outings or to enjoy a peaceful morning coffee. But with such stunning restaurants on site, I chose Gordon Ramsay’s Bar and Grill on the ground floor, which serves as the hotel’s second restaurant, every time to kick start my day.

Service – 10/10
The service was impeccable from start to finish. The doorman greeted us with warmth and offered useful local insights, while the concierge secured last-minute theatre tickets and made several excellent dining suggestions.
Staff across the board were polished, proactive, and genuine in their hospitality, even housekeeping were lovely and friendly.
Little details made a big difference—like brilliant directions to local card shops from the concierge, directions to the best chocolate shop, and seamless in-room dining delivery.
Guests I spoke to said Marriott Bonvoy Elite benefits (including late check-out and potential upgrades) were honoured without needing to ask.
Lucky Cat at London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square
Food & Beverage – 9.5/10
Dining here is exceptional and varied, with three distinct venues, and I would stay here again, especially in cooler months as the on-site restaurants are just so incredible:
Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill offers classic British and steakhouse fare in a relaxed yet refined setting. Breakfast here was a particular standout—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented and from an a la carte menu. Great coffee.
Lucky Cat by Gordon Ramsay delivers bold Asian fusion in a vibrant, sexy, sleek, upscale environment. Our dinner here was exceptional, from sushi to the best fried chicken, duck, fried rice with fresh eggs, and the whole dining experience is up there with some of London’s best, The menu is designed for sharing, and the cocktails are also among the best in London. Live DJs on weekends elevate the experience without overpowering conversation. I definitely want to return urgently as there was so much choice on the menu, I feel like I missed out on some show stoppers.
The Luggage Room, the hotel’s hidden speakeasy, is an intimate and stylish 1920s-inspired bar with impeccable cocktails and a wonderfully intimate vibe. There is a “secret door” outside with a password. I loved this.
The Executive Lounge serves a quality complimentary breakfast, plus light snacks, soft drinks, and coffee throughout the day— idealfor taking a break from exploring the city.

Wellness & Fitness – 7.5/10
The hotel’s fitness centre is compact and in the basement but well-equipped, with a selection of cardio machines, free weights, and resistance equipment. It’s clean, accessible 24/7, and adequate for a morning workout.
While there’s no spa on site, the location and the very well informed concierge makes it easy to book treatments nearby in Mayfair’s many high-end salons.
