La Réserve Geneva Hotel Review: Luxury, Fitness and Style

La Réserve Geneva Hotel Review, where luxury fitness and style combine for an effortless, pampered stay.

La Réserve Geneva Hotel, a luxury hotel/resort is one of Switzerland’s best kept secrets. There are times we all need to escape the real world, and La Réserve Geneva is the place in Switzerland to do it.

One of two stunning swimming pools at La Réserve Geneva.

Located on the edge of Lake Geneva, La Réserve Geneva combines a secluded stunningly spacious African style lodge complete with an elephant sculpture in the lobby and the dining and leisure facilities of a high level resort, as well as the best of traditional, luxury Swiss health and fitness centres.

The only challenge each night is whether to have a champagne and relax to the tunes of the live DJ in the bar each night or have a detox water and a massage.

Designed by chic French designer Jacques Garcia,  the bar and lobby area is filled with strong red and gold interiors, leopard and zebra prints. Chairs are velvet as well as leather.

The sprawling fitness and spa area by Swiss anti-aging clinic Nescens, La Réserve Geneva is a highlight. It is white, and includes 5 different training rooms, the latest equipment, daily classes and trainers on hand. They even charge your phone for you whilst you work out.

The 20m indoor pool area is heated, surrounded by cream curtains, and the feel is relaxing and luxurious. Attention to detail in the interiors, service and experiences is evident everywhere.

The interiors theme of the whole spa and health centre is cream and white, giving it a calm, elegant feel and there’s a full spa menu, hammam and dry sauna.

It even has its own healthy, relaxing restaurant.

The 1 Michelin Star Chinese Restaurant, Tse- Fung meaning Phoenix at La Réserve, Geneva.

There are 5 restaurants within the hotel. They include the 1 Michelin Star Chinese Restaurant, Tse- Fung meaning Phoenix, which is staffed by Chinese chefs, and serves sensational traditional Chinese dishes from roast duck to prawns, and steamed dumplings. The food here is seriously high end in every venue.

The entire building at La Réserve Geneva overlooks Lake Geneva. For a moment’s peace at any time of year guests can walk the secret path to the water, out along the jetty. An afternoon walk from the hotel down the  path to the lake was one of life’s great pleasures. The nature here allows guests to cocoon themselves, to really escape the every day.

When we were there in winter, a magical ice skating rink was  available to guests on top of the pool, with music playing whilst guests skate.

For the ultimate in accommodation, the two storey glass cube villa separate from the main accommodation buildings at La Réserve Geneva is it. It  overlooks Lake Geneva and has a private garden, personal concierge, and private boat transfers to and from Geneva city. Brilliant for families wanting a home away from home.

La Réserve Geneva is the kind of hotel where you can get as much or as little out of a stay as you like – from round the clock fitness to high end dining or just chilling with a good book.

Rooms are spacious and light filled by day with turn down service nightly. The safari theme is also there, with reds, oranges and blues within the rooms. The suites are huge with a separate lounge, separate dressing room, separate toilet and large bathroom with separate bath and shower.

All rooms are intelligently designed to celebrate the lush green views and with glass panels to maximise natural light.

Located 10 minutes from the old town, it is 5 minutes from the airport.

Families staying when I was there loved the place.
