Mykonos, Greece: Here’s how to do it in 5 star style

Mykonos, Greece has so much to offer in terms of 5 star style. Here’s how to do it.

Mykonos has so much to offer for families, couples and singles. Here is how to do it in five star style.

Move over Ibiza, Mykonos is  experiencing a re-surgence as one of the most sought-after locations for Europeans and Australians to holiday.

When it comes to Greece, I must admit I am biased. I have 2 Greek children, and have spent many years holidaying on both the main land & the island, but the rest of Europe is not, and Mykonos is said to be passing Ibiza as the summer holiday destination to be seen at.

My favourite location in Greece has long been Mykonos, and my favourite beach area to stay is Platy Gialos (more about that here).

It’s a beach area just far enough away from Mykonos town to feel secluded, you can walk to two of the island’s best beach clubs, located at either end, Nammos and Scorpios, and the entire area is sheltered from the winds, which can be fierce at time, on this small island.

On my last trip I discovered The Myconian Ambassador Hotel, a chic five star Relais & Chateaux property, and what a find it was.

One of nine Myconian Collection properties, this family owned luxurious but uber cool property takes a holiday in Mykonos to the next level.

Internally, luxe white marble stairs lead to 70 fresh, whitewashed  rooms many with ocean views. Suites even have spas. Molton Brown products are in the bathrooms as well as local Greek brand- you choose what to use.

All rooms have a pod for your phone to play music. Essential at night when getting dressed to go out whilst looking at the ocean.

The spectacular  swimming pool has full views of the ocean, & five star service at every turn. There are chairs for handbags in the restaurant and staff there feel more like friends than waiters. Feel like a cocktail? Forget the menu, they will mix one to your specifications.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day at Myconian properties, and a time to stretch it out and take your time. The buffet is extraordinary large, diverse and fresh with everything from eggs cooked to order, fruits, cakes, meats, fresh juices, coffees and so on are there.

The spa in the basement is absolute luxury, and has Elemis products, and there’s a decent gym and pilates room flooded with natural light.

This hotel is brilliant for couples, friends, and families.

Fly into Mykonos direct from Sydney with Qatar Airways (In summer  2019 there will be daily flights from Sydney), and the hotel will drive you directly to the hotel, where you will be spoilt every moment of your trip.

If you prefer to mix up your accommodation,The Myconian Group has nine other properties in Mykonos – all of the same five star luxury standard.
